As a little boy, all I wanted for Christmas was for my dad to not be drunk—and for him and mom not to fight. As a teenager, all I wanted for Christmas was to find the perfect gift for that special girlfriend I wanted to impress—and for her to finally notice me. As a young adult, all I wanted for Christmas was a paycheck, so I could provide nice gifts for my children—to give them the things I never had. As a middle-aged adult, all I desire for Christmas is to share the Christmas season with family—and friends. As an elderly adult, all I will hope for on Christmas… is one more Christmas.
